University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
The International Research Institute (LRI) for Socio-Economic and Regional Development (PSEK) of IPB University has established a partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to strengthen research collaboration, academic capacity development, and international knowledge exchange. This partnership is expected to produce high-quality research, joint scientific publications, and academic programs that significantly contribute to economic and community development at the national and global levels. The partnership at IPB is executed by the Center for Agrarian Studies, the International Research Institute for Social, Economic and Regional Development – Prof. Dr. Ir. Arya Hadi Dharmawan M.Sc.Agr., and Dr. Bayu Eka Yulian.

Wageningen University & Research
From 2022 to the present (2025), the Public Administration and Policy Department of the Department of Social Sciences of Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands, under the leadership of Prof. Otto Hospes, Prof. Arya Hadi Dharmawan, and Dr. Bayu Eka Yulian, has established a long-term research collaboration in the field of sustainability politics and natural resource governance. Significant attention is paid to public authorities, private actors, and NGOs in the management of sustainable food and agriculture. Over the past few years, the research has addressed critical issues in the palm oil sector, both nationally and globally. The research crosses regional boundaries, including explorations within international public authorities, such as the European Union’s EUDR (European Union Deforestation-Free Regulation) and RED II within the Green Deal Policy framework.
