The mandate of LRI PGK is to plan and coordinate the implementation and development of international and national research at study centers in the field of food, nutrition and health within IPB University. With the scope of primary production (on-farm) to consumption (off-farm) and the impact on nutritional status and health to support the achievement of food and nutrition security and food safety in Indonesia. In addition, it has a special assignment as the Coordinator of the Inter-University Center of Excellence (PUAPT) and the Preparation of the Bappenas KOICA Demand Survey “Harnessing Rice Production and Productivity”
Center for Tropical Animal Studies (CENTRAS)
Center for Tropical Animal Studies (CENTRAS) is a research center that focuses on comprehensive and integrated tropical animal studies. It has a vision to become a center of excellence in tropical animal studies that provides great benefits for human welfare. It has a mission to explore and study tropical animal resources to support a sustainable environment and national development programs.

Halal Science Center of IPB (HSC IPB) is a leading institution in Indonesia dedicated to the scientific study of halal materials and products. HSC IPB contributes to the development of national policies and global industry by providing expertise services in the field of halal, such as conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), becoming an expert in the formulation of policies, standards, and guidelines, and providing training and technical guidance related to halal science.
Center for Tropical Horticulture
Studies
The Center for Tropical Horticulture Studies is a work unit under the LRI PGK IPB University which has the main mandate in:
- Plant Breeding
- Technology Development
- Market Studies and Partnership Systems
The functions as an international tropical horticulture research center that focuses on the development of science, technology, and human resources to drive the agribusiness and horticultural agro-industry chain in Indonesia. The organizational structure consists of four main divisions, namely Breeding and Seeding, Vegetable Technology Development, Fruit Technology Development, Post-Harvest and Product Processing.
Through various research and development activities, plays a role in increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian horticultural commodities in the global market.

Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center is a research center that focuses on the development of science and technology in the fields of food and agriculture.
The main tasks and functions of the SEAFAST Center include:
- Development of New Food Technology and Products
- Implementation of Technology Innovation and Management Systems
- Study of Food Safety Standards and Regulations
- Analysis of Food and Nutrition Policy
- Improving Community Nutrition
SEAFAST Center also plays a role in developing national and regional partnership systems, bringing together universities, governments, donors, and the business sector to focus on improving food science and technology issues in Indonesia and other ASEAN countries
Through these initiatives, SEAFAST Center is committed to improving food quality, nutrition, and safety, as well as strengthening food security based on local resources in a sustainable manner.
Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC)
Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) is a research center that focuses on the exploration, development, and utilization of knowledge and technology related to tropical natural resources to improve productivity, health, and disease control in humans, animals, and plants.
The main tasks and functions of TropBRC include:
- Exploration and Development of Local Knowledge
- Bioethics and Conservation Policy Recommendations
- Implementation of Good Agricultural and Manufacturing Practices
- Development of Biopharmaca Product Standardization Models
- Socio-Economic Development through Product Commercialization
- Tropical Biopharmaca Information Service Center
Through these initiatives, TropBRC is committed to improving the quality and standardization of biopharmaca production, as well as expanding its reach to the international level.
