The task of the Social, Economic and Regional LRI is to plan, strengthen and develop, initiate cooperation, and coordinate and manage research administration, community service and non-degree training related to global and local issues that can be raised to a global context in the fields of social sciences, economics, and territorial/regional/landscape studies.

Center for Regional Planning and Development Studies

The Center for Regional Systems Analysis, Planning and Development (CrestPent) developed from a research group that focused on regional development and planning at IPB.

The center has four research divisions, namely:

  3. Regional Information Systems
  4. Geospatial Information and Technology for Integrated and Smart Agriculture

The Center for Agrarian Studies at IPB University is a research institution that focuses on the dynamics of ownership systems, control, and community access, especially in rural areas, to agrarian resources.

Center for Conflict Resolution Studies (CARE)

The Center for Conflict Resolution Studies (CARE) is one of the research centers under the International Research Institute of IPB University which has a vision to become a leading center for research and development of conflict resolution in Indonesia and internationally in order to realize intelligence, independence, and welfare of a civilized and just society.

CARE Mission:

Conducting research and developing alternative models for managing potential natural and human resource conflicts, including prevention, conflict resolution, post-conflict rehabilitation, and community empowerment. 

Conducting evaluations and designing regulations for regional and national development policies that are just and empowering.

Scope of CARE Activities:

Developing management for handling or resolving conflicts (social disasters) in various levels of society, both horizontal and vertical conflicts, through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) approach such as advocacy, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and others. DRI IPB

Center for Islamic Business and Economic Studies

The Center for Islamic Business and Economic Studies (CIBEST) is a research institution that focuses on the development of Islamic business and economics through an interdisciplinary approach. Currently, CIBEST is divided into four divisions, namely the Division of Islamic Economics and Finance, the Division of Halal Industry Management, the Division of Islamic Agribusiness and the Division of Islamic Philanthropy. By emphasizing the principles of sustainability and Islamic values, CIBEST is committed to supporting sustainable economic development.

In carrying out its mission, CIBEST collaborates with various institutions such as the National Committee for Islamic Economics and Finance (KNEKS), the Regional Committee for Islamic Economics and Finance (KDEKS), Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), BPRS-ASBISINDO Compartment, BAZNAS, Menara Syariah and various other related institutions. This collaboration strengthens CIBEST’s capacity to make significant contributions to the development of Islamic economics in Indonesia and throughout the world.

International Center for Applied Economics and Finance (INTERCAFE)

​The International Center for Applied Economics and Finance (InterCAFE) is a research center under the International Research Institute of IPB University that focuses on applied economics and finance.

Vision: To become an international research center in applied economics and finance that involves various disciplines comprehensively and is beneficial for development. ​

Mission:

Conducting research in applied economics and finance, with a primary focus on emerging markets.

Developing economic and financial models that are useful for the development of science.

Center for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies

The Center for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies of IPB University is a research institution established in 1973 with a focus on the development of agricultural socio-economic sciences and rural community empowerment.

PSP3 Vision: To become a reference research center in the field of agricultural socio-economics that has a strong commitment to the welfare of farmers and rural communities.

PSP3 Mission:

  1. Developing academic studies in the field of agricultural socio-economics that are oriented towards improving the welfare of farmers and rural communities in Indonesia.
  2. Developing innovative ideas in the fields of agricultural socio-economic studies, agrarian affairs, gender, and poverty alleviation.
  3. Supporting and developing efforts to empower farmers and rural communities to improve social welfare.
  4. Participating in the development of agricultural socio-economic sciences and development in general.
