IPB International Research Institute (LRI IPB) is one of the institutional units within IPB University, which was formed in 2023. Initially known as the Community Service Research Institute (LPPM), which was the result of a merger between the Community Service Institute (LPM) and the Research Institute (LP) based on the Decree of the Rector of IPB Number 016 of 1979 and the Decree of the Rector of IPB Number 020 of 1979 which formed LPM and LP separately. However, on November 6, 2003, through the Decree of the Rector of IPB Number 180/K13/OT/2003, the two institutions were merged into the Institute for Research and Community Empowerment.
